About Us

I have been a practicing artist for the past 10 years. currently working from my studio in East Gippsland Victoria. Over that time I have been involved in solo, group and selected exhibitions  and exhibited internationally.
My work explores the use of mixed media combining ceramics and other materials such as steel and timber. The ceramic component involve alternative firing techniques such as infusing re-cycled oil into the ceramic pieces to produce black ware creating oil lustres. I use raku and naked raku also experimenting with both process and material to create my work.
As part of this experimental aspect I plasma cut, weld and hand forge recycled steel to give it new life and meaning. My ceramic process is a melding of clay, steel and fire. Most pieces are inspired by my immediate surroundings and love of Australian native fauna and flora. I enjoy the challenge of balancing the aesthetics of the materials I use and the environment they will be displayed in, hoping ultimately that the conversation between the artwork and it’s environment is one of harmony.” Drawing from my natural surrounding for inspiration, Australian Flora particularly the many varied shapes and colours that make up the Proteaceae family of plants in particular the Banksia.
